The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), based in Montgomery, Alabama, is a nonprofit civil rights organization founded in 1971 and dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry, and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of society. Every spring, the SPLC publishes an annual hate report that looks at the number of hate groups in the country and an analysis of their activity from the year before.

Here is some powerful advice from a physician who is also the block captain of our neighborhood. She's my hero right now. We need leaders like her who can mobilize our communities and neighborhoods to take care of each other. Feel free to copy and paste parts of this letter she sent around our neighborhood and take ideas from it to share with your neighbors. Stay safe!

After the attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue in 2018, Pittsburgh Calvary Episcopal rector, Reverend Jonathon Jensen, was concerned that the congregation would have not have a large enough space to hold the Jewish high holiday services. So he called Rabbi Jeffrey Myers and offered the Calvary Episcopal Church to his congregation. Since then, the congregants and clergy have gotten to know each other, and have hosted joint events, like this past week's Purim Shpiel.

Over 100 young leaders, their parents and community members gathered at South Park community center in Seattle on February 26, 2020, for a Not In Our Town screening of Light in the Darkness. The Seattle police department teamed up with Carmen Martinez of Duwamish Valley Youth Corps with a goal of improving hate crime reporting.
