I am a retired professor of Spanish. I helped to develop a superior modern language teaching method, PSYCHO-GENERATIVE which enables students to learn a second language with much greater ease and proficiency. Teachers do not have to abandon their current teaching materials: they learn how to apply the principles of effective teaching---which can help minority students to excel in the classroom.
Facilitating the learning of a second language is an important weapon in helping to eliminatre prejudices and their destructive outcomes which are often based on cultural and racial ignorance---as happened in the Marcelo Lucero tragedy.
I am also an expert in anti-violence. In 1970, I created a unique self defense course for females which I taught to more than 10,000 people, including women & girls in shelters for the battered, single mothers, girls in juvenile detention, and women in Lazaro Cardenas and Cuernava, Mexico.
Apart from this, I created a program COMMITMENT TO COURAGE and other materials which can have a major impact in helping to eliminate all forms of social violence: bullying, gang predations, abuse of children and other forms of domestic violence, recidivism of youth and adult offenders, and more. My program and materials can greatly strengthen and enhance the Not In Our Town & Not In Our Schools programs.
