Not In Our Town Bowling Green 5 Year Anniversary: April 17 Details: On April 17th, 2013 Vicky Kulicke and others from the Bowling Green community and BGSU initiated the Bowling Green chapter of Not in Our Town, an organization dedicated to supporting diversity and stamping out hate and violence on a local level.

Intent on inspiring greater engagement and awareness among their peers about inclusion and diversity, four high school student leaders partnered with local adults to kick off a Not In Our Town pledge campaign at Monument Mountain Regional High School in Berkshire County, MA.

Over 300 community members, civic leaders, and students gathered at the College of Marin last Tuesday for two film screenings of Light in the Darkness and community discussions on how to stop hate in Marin. NIOT Founder, Patrice O’Neill, led the discussions after both events which not only surfaced issues of intolerance in Marin County, but also steps to creating solutions on how to tackle hate and build inclusion

Each of the issues dominating the national discourse these days - immigration, the safety of our children, the rights and protections of all our citizens - are avenues that can further divide us or bring us together. Not In Our Town seeks to partner with other organizations, such as  Re-Imagining Migration, who focus on creating ways to move critical conversations forward in ways that help us all build bridges.
