Courage: Honoring Those Standing Up To Hate in Portland | Not in Our Town

Courage: Honoring Those Standing Up To Hate in Portland

Our hearts are broken for the two brave upstanders who lost their lives over Memorial Day weekend standing up for their neighbors in Portland. 23-year-old Taliesin Myrddin, and 53-year-old Ricky Best were killed and 21-year-old Micah Fletcher was hospitalized with serious injuries after stepping in when a white supremacist was harrassing two teenage girls, one that was wearing a hijab. Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler released a statement Saturday morning saying:

"Their actions were brave and selfless, and should serve as an example and inspiration to us all. They are heroes."
