ACTION HIGHLIGHTS
Life Directions' Vision is Peers Inspiring Peers Through Forgiving.
Life Directions was born out of the issue of violence. The founders of Life Directions arrived at the intuitive understanding that it was necessary to "get to the cause of the violence." As a result, the dynamic vision of "Peers Inspiring Peers through Forgiving" was forged.
This vision of "Peers Inspiring Peers through Forgiving" was brought to life through a series of ongoing neighborhood based discussions directed at determining the causes of violence with people who were directly experiencing its effects as well as those who were causing the violence in their communities (e.g. local gangs).
CHALLENGES
Life Directions staff in partnership with peer leaders provide three interconnected programs that network the social capitol of adolescents and the adults who support them.
