I was born in Sacramento California. Growing up poor I lived in probably every neighborhood in Sacramento, at least the "bad ones". Our family consisted me, my two sisters and my single mother. I had to adapt to living in changing environments because of our nomadic lifestyle. I think doing so taught me many lessons that have benefited my adult life. I moved to Reno Nevada when I was 14. Our lifestyle was a somewhat stable compared to the previous. After middle school and a unsuccessful freshman year at Reno High School I moved to live with my father in Oklahoma. It was quite a culture shock at first. After settling in I made friends and acclimated to the culture. I did however notice a sharper amount of almost acceptable racism. My passion for CIvil Rights started sometime around then. This is when I questioned what my parents, grandparents, and all there friends said about other races.
