We are the dream was created by MSU college students (fall of 09) in response to a white supremacist group that came into our town and then came into our schools and distributed their propaganda. We are the dream is standing up against hate because we were told that it was up to the students to do something about it. Our mission statement is:promoting awareness and understanding of issues surrounding diversity and multiculturalism in the Bozeman community while providing support for minority students and community members, and building respect for individuality and difference through education. Our goal is to be able to get the attention of the administration to make changes at the University level. Changes like having an advocate or center for students to go to in order to have a place to feel a sense of comfort or belonging when incidents like these happen. Then we would like keep going up the ladder. Start at our University and then work with the schools in the are and then the State. We want to think big!
