Action Highlights
Last spring we worked to raise money for HEAL Africa, a hospital in Congo helping women in need of fistula surgery, due to violent rape. This term we are learning about the attacks on immigrants on Long Island and are interested in current NIOT actions to improve life for immigrants in Suffolk County.
Challenges
We are new immigrants learning English as a second language. We are part of a public school with limited financial resources.
